Misty Step plays jazz in Swedish, with jazz standards given new life through original Swedish lyrics by Marina Nygård, alongside her own original songs. The songs explore love, darkness, hope, and longing, with the music moving between quiet, intimate moments and playful bursts of improvisation.
Marina’s vocals are at the centre, with plenty of scat improvisation alongside the Swedish lyrics. Guitar solos and fluid piano improvisation add different colours to the music, while bass and drums keep the groove moving. The band enjoys playing with the music and with each other, leaving room for spontaneity and unexpected turns.
