Mirror of Change Installation

Mirror of Change is an interactive installation connected to the Youth Voices for Change project by CHANGE Vaasa.

The installation uses mirrors as a symbol of reflection, identity, and positive change. Visitors are invited to stop, look at the mirror, read a reflection question, and share their thoughts about change.

Each mirror may have a different question, such as:

-What change do you want to see in yourself?
-What change do you want to see in your community?
-What change do you want to see in Vaasa?
-What change do you want to see in the world?

The installation is especially connected to young people’s voices, but it is open for everyone to see and take part in. The collected reflections may be presented during the Youth Voices for Change closing event at Vaasa Main Library on 9th October 2026.

The installation will be displayed in youth-friendly and public spaces in Vaasa during the project period.

Display period: 1st September - 8th October 2026.

The visual concept and mirror decorations for Mirror of Change are developed with support from Mariia Kuts, a Ukrainian artist based in Vaasa. Her work explores emotions, self-expression, and the relationship between people and their environment. Her artistic practice includes abstract textured artworks using materials such as fabric, lace, gypsum, cement, stones, and acrylic paints. Her work has been exhibited at Torni Art Center, Ritz Vaasa, and Minimossen Gallery.
