Vaasas birthday

2 October 2026 marks the 420th anniversary of Vaasa’s founding. The anniversary programme offers a wide range of ways to join in the celebrations, including open days, exhibitions, workshops, sports and exercise, cultural activities and special offers and benefits.

Highlights:
- A video about Vaasa’s history and a talk on the power of happiness at Ritz on 1 October from 17.00 to 18.45 (advance registration)
- Pepe Willberg’s anniversary concert at City Hall on 1 October at 18.00.
-️ Open House on 2 October at Culture House Fanny from 12.00 to 15.00 and two daycare centres: Palosaari Daycare from 12.00 to 15.00 and Gustavsborg Daycare from 16.00 to 18.00 , all recently renovated
- ️ Free admission to the Kuntsi Museum of Modern Art and the Museum of Old Vaasa on 2 October from 10.00 to 17.00.
- Valphabet - Vaasa’s Own Alphabet workshop at the main library on 2 October from 14.00 to 16.30.
- Traffic park is open to children on 2 October from 12.00 to 18.00, weather permitting.
- Discounted tickets for the musical Tinakenkätyttö on 3 October, for the 13.00 and 18.00 performances
