U17 International Match Finland–England, 13 September at 13:00

At the beginning of August, Finland’s U17 women’s football national team won the Nordic Championship tournament after drawing with Norway and defeating Denmark and Sweden. In September, the team will have the chance to play in front of a home crowd when England, a familiar participant in the UEFA Women’s U17 European Championship finals, travels to Finland for an international match in Vaasa.

The U17 international matches against England are organised in cooperation with local club VIFK (Vaasa).

The matches against England will also serve as preparation for the UEFA Women’s U17 European Championship qualifying tournament, which will be played in Scotland in October. Finland will take part in the qualifiers even though the team’s place in the European Championship finals is already secured as the host nation. The European Championship tournament in spring will be the fourth U17 Women’s European Championship in history.
