There is something truly exceptional about the profession of conducting, as so many leading conductors continue their careers for decades beyond retirement age. One such enduring figure in the conducting world is Jorma Panula, who still has much to offer younger colleagues as a teacher and mentor. At the core of Panula’s teaching are a profound understanding of the works being performed and a purposeful conducting technique. In this course concert, audiences will experience through classical masterworks how the talented students arriving from around the world put these principles into practice.
