A guided tour about Easter

Welcome to Stundars for an Easter stroll among the cottages on Thursday April 2nd, at 1 PM in Swedish, 2 PM in Finnish, and 3 PM in English. We will tell you how Easter was celebrated in the old agrarian society during the 19th century. This concerns folk traditions regarding food, general mischief on Easter Saturday, as well as belief in the supernatural.
Easter is a period of gradual transitioning from winter to spring. It is an uneven time, with the weather shifting almost daily from warm sunshine to harsh winter-chill. But once spring begins in earnest, then it is a time of renewal and rebirth in nature. Migratory birds return from the south, cattle can return to grazing, chickens start laying eggs again, and trees grow new leaves. That is why Easter is traditionally the most important time in the crop year, just as celebrating the resurrection of Christ is the most significant holiday of the church year.
We will meet at the yellow info-stand, next to the parking area. Dress according to the weather, for we will be outside a lot.
