The concert takes the listener through American soundscapes and Romantic highlights - from Edward MacDowell’s New England Idylls and Nicky Sohn’s poetic Chyntia and Deer Friend, to Leonard Bernstein’s lyrical and jazz-inflected Clarinet Sonata. The evening culminates in Antonín Dvorák’s celebrated Piano Quintet, one of the most beloved chamber works of the Romantic era.
