Belgian women's rights movement in the 1970's

Bandes d'hystériques is a 2026 documentary film portraying the history of the Belgian women's rights movement during the 1970s and highlights a largely forgotten era of feminist struggle. By reflecting on today's society in the wake of the #MeToo movement, the documentary tells the story of the fight for equality through unique archival footage, interviews with pioneers, and period-specific texts. In French and Dutch, with English subtitles. Kita Bauchet takes part in the Kristinestad Artists' Residency in June. Free entrance.
